Hola!
Three years in, which feels both like a lot and not that much at all. And still, here we are.
Long enough to have stories and to know what this really takes. Short enough to still be figuring things out every single day. Because the truth is, building something like Sobremesa doesn’t follow a straight line.
It moves. Constant movement.
Moments of absolute clarity followed by weeks of questioning everything. Ideas arriving faster than I could hold them. And, at times, the strange feeling of being both completely certain and completely lost often within the same afternoon.
Sobremesa was never meant to be just a school. From the beginning, it was something harder to explain and, at the same time, impossible to ignore.
A way of gathering people, of experiencing language beyond structure, of moving through Barcelona and through yourself with a little more attention, a little more curiosity, a little more intention.
Over time, it has taken many shapes. Courses, immersions, conversations, collaborations. Some planned. Some completely unexpected. All of them part of the same thing.
A living body of work. And maybe that’s what I understand better now. That Sobremesa is not something static that I build once and then manage. It moves. It evolves. It asks for decisions, for courage, for letting go of what no longer fits, even when it once did.
“Sobremesa was never meant to be just a school. From the beginning, it was something harder to explain and, at the same time, impossible to ignore.”

There’s a version of me from three years ago who would probably want more certainty. A clearer roadmap. Fewer questions. But I’m not sure she would have built this.
Because this – what Sobremesa is today – exists precisely because I trusted something I couldn’t fully explain at the time. I didn’t always know and kept going anyway because stopping was never really an option.
What I do know now is this:
There is a direction. Not a straight line. Not a perfect plan. But a direction that feels solid, expansive, and very much alive.
And if the first three years were about building the foundations – understanding the work, shaping the voice, finding the people – this next chapter feels different.
More precise. More grounded. More open.
So this is not just a celebration. It’s a quiet acknowledgement of everything that has taken place to get here and a very clear sense that we are just beginning to step into what Sobremesa was always meant to be.
Thank you for being part of it. In one way or another, you’ve helped shape this more than you probably know.
The best is yet to come!
Con cariño,
Lydia ♡
To celebrate these three years, we created this shoot marking this moment through flowers, color, and movement.
It came together thanks to a group of people whose work I truly admire. The way everything was handled, from composition to detail, made it feel exactly as it needed to.
