On Friday, March 24th, on a warm spring evening in Barcelona, Sobremesa.Institute officially came to life—surrounded by friends, collaborators, and the vibrant energy of our creative community.
What began as a simple (well, not that simple) idea —an unconventional Spanish school where creativity and connection take center stage— slowly but surely became a full-fledged reality. And while we could have just sent out a press release and called it a day, that wouldn’t be very Sobremesa, would it?
Instead, we did what we do best: we gathered an incredible group of people and set the mood in one of our favorite spaces in Barcelona: the Iriarte Iriarte headquarters. The space came to life with beautifully curated floral details by Matagalán Plantae, glasses filled to the brim with the iconic bubbles of El Xampanyet, and a soundtrack spun by Downites. The night was a perfect mix of laughter, conversation, and toasts to new beginnings.
Our launch party was more than just a celebration; it was the culmination of a year of dreaming, planning, and building something we deeply believe in: an unconventional Spanish school that fosters creativity, human connection, and cultural exchange. It was the beginning of something beautiful, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark the occasion.
As the night went on, conversations flowed, new friendships were made, and we all had that moment of realization: this is exactly what Sobremesa.Institute is about. Not just learning Spanish, but creating moments of connection, sharing ideas, and building a community of curious, creative people who believe that language is more than just words.
